AVISTA Adds New Programs Manager
Continued Demand for Software Development and Systems Engineering Services in Avionics and Government/Military Applications for Outsourced Software Firm
PLATTEVILLE, Wisconsin – April 29, 2008 – In response to increased interest in its software project management services, AVISTA Incorporated®, the U.S. leader in critical systems software engineering services, expanded its management team with a new programs manager, Linda Winger. Winger, an experienced software executive, brings more than 20 years of experience in full-lifecycle software development, project management and professional services delivery to support AVISTA's growing client-base.
Winger joins AVISTA from Esker (previously Persoft) where she served in many capacities, including recently as Worldwide Vice President of Professional Services, and earlier as Vice President of U.S. Research and Development. While with Esker, she built a world-class professional services organization that helped increase the company's sales win rate, doubled annual consulting revenues for five years running, and reduced technical support costs with more efficient implementation. Earlier, Winger was a project manager for Tara Software, managing multiple software development projects for the consulting company. She started her career with IBM. Winger holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in computer science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
"Avionics and defense contractors are dealing with greater software development complexity and greater risk for their projects," says Jim Schneller, president of AVISTA Incorporated. "By partnering with established outsourced software services companies like AVISTA, organizations can manage risk, reduce costs and focus on core competencies. Linda brings us tremendous large-scale software project management expertise. Her strong background leading efficient, global software development projects will help us meet increased demand from clients."
This management expansion follows the company's recent office expansion near its headquarters in Wisconsin. AVISTA serves customers worldwide with full-lifecycle software development and systems engineering resources in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. More information about AVISTA's services in software development, software verification and validation and systems engineering, including its DO-178B software development and DO-254 certification services, is available at: www.avistainc.com/services/index.shtml.
