Software Experts from AVISTA to Present at Computing Conference
AVISTA and University of Wisconsin-Platteville to Share Research on Software Development Processes and Embedded Systems to Advance Computer-Related Education
PLATTEVILLE, Wisconsin – April 8, 2008 – AVISTA Incorporated®, a leader in critical-systems software engineering services, is collaborating with the University of Wisconsin-Platteville software engineering department to share research and insights on mature software processes, software development and embedded systems and help improve computer science and software engineering study. Safety-critical software engineers from AVISTA and instructors from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville (UW-P) will be presenting later this week at the 41st Annual Midwest Instruction and Computing Symposium (MICS).
MICS, one of the longest running computing conferences in the country, helps college educators incorporate the latest computer technology and developments into the curriculum. - "Statistical Process Control of Software Processes for Obtaining CMMI Level 5", will be presented by Mike Rowe, AVISTA staff engineer, and associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, on Friday, April 11th at 12:30 p.m.
- "The Characterization and Identification of Object-Oriented Model Defects", will be presented by Mike Rowe and Rob Hasker, AVISTA staff engineer, and professor at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, software engineering department, on Friday, April 11th at 1:30 p.m.
- "PID Control in a Real-Time Embedded Systems Programming Course", will be presented by Joe Clifton, professor of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's software engineering department, and principal engineer at AVISTA, on Friday, April 11th at 3:00 p.m.
- "A Live View of the World", will be presented by Douglas Hickok, AVISTA software engineer, and Mike Rowe, on Saturday, April 12th at 11:00am.
